Mining companies in the Tarkwa–Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region have been urged to come together to fight for a common goal.
“Coming together is a guarantee that development will thrive in this area; look at your roads, it’s not in good shape and look at monies coming from here,” Apostle Joseph Asabil, Area Head of Takoradi and the Western Regional Coordinator of the Church of Pentecost has said. “I know there is a dialogue on this road but it is worrisome, try to involve other stakeholders and take the challenge and lead stakeholders meeting,” he urged.
Apostle Asabil was speaking at the AngloGold Ashanti Iduaprime Mine Ghana 18th Annual Non-Denominational Thanks Giving Service at Tarkwa. It was on the theme ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefit’, Psalm 103:2.
He commended AngloGold for organizing the thanksgiving service for 18 years because acknowledging and appreciating what someone has done is very important. “God want us to show appreciation and he takes gratitude for that.”
He pointed out that if a company is doing well, then it is the workers and managers who have made it so. He encouraged the company to continue with their social intervention that will continue to develop the communities. “Rise to what you can imagine and you will see development thriving in our town and cities,” he advised.
