VIDEO: I’ve got the best ideas to market and brand women’s football – Evelyn Nsiah Asare
Ghana Football Association Executive Council Elections candidate Evelyn Nsiah Asare has underscored the need to market and brand women’s football to improve on patronage.
The brands and marketing guru, who has previously worked to offer strong sponsorship valves for both the Black Queens and Black Princesses, is in the race to appear on the council that becomes the second most powerful body in Ghana football.
Nsiah, a former team manager of Ghana’s senior female national team – the Black Queens, has risen through the ranks starting as an athlete to reach the heights of a football administrator.
The former athlete and footballer who has risen through the ranks to become a top notch football administrator believes offering a new dynamism to the women’s game will help boost patronage in the country.
“If we push the game [women’s football] to become part of the communities people will watch it. When I was working with the Black Queens we went to Techiman to play against Ampem Darkoaa Ladies and if you see the video and see the patronage from that day I told myself that if I had any opportunity I have a pitch at Techiman,” he told Ghana Sports Online in an exclusive interview.
She then called for the construction of mini-stadia in the country as the standpoint of a strong marketing incentive for the women’s game.
“I’ve also heard that in Venezuela they’ve put together a 1000-capacity stadium for women’s football. Why can’t we do same here?,” she quizzed.
