Miss Ghana 2019 to provide uniforms for underprivileged school children


Miss Ghana 2019, Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi, has announced plans of providing free school uniforms for underprivileged school children.

The twenty-six-year-old student of the Maureen Signature Institute said this in an interview on Citi TV’s morning show, Breakfast Daily on Monday.

“My project is providing school uniforms for the less privileged. I am an up and coming fashion designer and because of what I went through as a child I decided to embark on this,” she said.

She further explained that her proprietor and colleagues at school are they are all ready to help her with the project.

She won the envious title over eighteen (18) other contestants at a ceremony held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel on Saturday, July 6, 2019.

On her part, the first runner-up of the contest, Sarah Odei Amoani said her project was to help victims of road accidents to integrate back into society.

According to her, most accident victims either become disabled or lose their livelihood and would make sure she uses the projects to make them feel better.

Deborah Opoku Sarfo who took the third position at the contest is bent on seeking sponsorship to solve streetism. She intends to put them in school and others into an apprenticeship.

Rebecca will be representing Ghana at the Miss World pageant in December and will also be volunteering with Exclusive Events Ghana organisers of the pageant for a year.

The first and second runner-ups received Hyundai grand i10 official cars each and will also be volunteering with the Exclusive Events Ghana and Miss Ghana Foundation for a year among other prizes.

The Miss Ghana beauty pageant is organized by Exclusive Events Ghana Limited headed by Inna Mariam Patty, a former Miss Ghana queen.
