Quincy Owusu-Abeyie named among ex-Arsenal wonderkids that failed to glitter
Ghanaian international Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has been named among some Arsenal players that couldn’t live up to expectation at the Club.
Quincy came through the youth ranks at Arsenal after joining the Club from Dutch side Ajax at age 16.
The former Black Stars wide-man was seen as a massive prospect for the Gunners after netting 17 goals in 20 matches for the youth side.
However his time in the first team was nothing to write home about as he failed to glitter in the few opportunities handed to him.
He is being named among seven ex-Arsenal wonderkids who couldn’t live up to the bill. Fran Merida, David Bentley, Jim Will, Jermaine Pennant, Jeremie Aliadiere and Ryan Smith were all named among youngsters who failed to make the grade at the English Club.
Now 33, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie last played for Dutch Club NEC Nijmegen.
